Ahh, if only I could summarize myself neatly in a paragraph…
I’m 22 years old and am currently doing my undergrad in environmental engineering. I adore my friends and family above all else, and I appreciate good food and live music.
I played soccer for about 10 years and have been snowboarding (non-competitively) for about 8. My next fitness goal is to run a half marathon, we’ll see if I’m able to keep up with training in Ghana!
I became involved with Engineers Without Borders during my second year of university, after I realized my education didn’t provide me with the outlet I was looking for to do something good in this world. No offense, engineering. Within the organization my passion for international development has grown. Nothing beats the 2 am conversations that leave your head throbbing.
If you have any questions about me, please feel free to post them here or send an email.
Cheers,
Sarah

Hey Sarah, John just sent me your blog info…sounds like things are going well!!!! I’m going to get the girls on to learn all about your experiences. I know it’s safe…I read that part…but be careful! GF
Sarah,
I have read your articles very carefully and with great pleasure. I like your descriptions of the life there in Ghana but most of all I like your personal comments and thoughts.
I think that you should publish it for sure in our UoW newspaper and in the Kitchener… or Toronto newspapers/magazines. Your articles are worth of it…. very thoughtful and very powerful as well!!
Good job Sarah!….and please remember (when you get famous…) that I started liking You when I met You in the elementary school… Seems to be so long time ago….
I am Finland right now – experiencing and taking part in a different life. Students are very well educated here, speak two or three languages fluently, not afraid of hard work and friendly. Finns devote a lot of attention to protect their environment. Can you imagine that the width of Finnish highways is limited to certain dimension so the squirrels could jump over?! Finnish nation is very small (around 5 million all together)but they do extremely well managing between two big brothers around them, i.e. Russia and Sweden.
Best regards – Gregory
I don’t remember Kate (Bowers) telling us about proposals when she returned from Zambia a few years back. Maybe things are different there.
Keep doing the great job and make a difference.
